There is no doubt that artwork has an essential role in the interior design process. Using artwork as a starting point in designing a space is one of my favourite things to do.
Browsing Instagam for inspiration can lead to wonderful things, like discovering beautiful artwork but more importantly, beautiful people.
I like coincidences, so when I came across “Flock Together” by Stephanie Bostock some time ago, I smiled. I had just chosen these as accent colours for one of my interior design projects, but I wasn’t entirely sure about the combination. This beautiful watercolour was the confirmation that I needed. “Yes, it works, go for it.”
I kept browsing through Stephanie’s paintings and I found another one that I loved, called “Azure Medley”. I don’t seem to use blue much in my designs, but since I really liked this painting, I challenged myself and I put together a design board around it. I had so much fun. A nice, comfy masculine space, a place to relax and read a mag 🙂
